The Hublot project is an experimentation with different materials to produce an object so familiar in our daily lives: the chair. A single and distinct form serves as the structure, designed with a central circular opening and crafted in wood, aluminum, and concrete. It's an opportunity to explore the limits and qualities of these three different materials.
Intended to be entirely assembled and disassembled with just six screws and a screwdriver, the chairs feature a fabric seat that can be easily replaced or styled differently.
Quite like the story of the three little pigs who built their homes with straw, wood, and bricks, my Hublot chair project explores the distinct qualities of three emblematic materials: aluminum, wood, and concrete. Just as the first pig quickly chose straw, I opted for aluminum for its lightweight, modern character, offering a sleek aesthetic. Wood, evoking the solidity of the second pig's house, finds its place by evoking warmth and elegance. Finally, concrete, reminiscent of the sturdiness of the third pig's brick house, gives the chair a strong and enduring presence. Through this approach, I shed light on how material choices not only impact appearance but also the functionality and durability of the Hublot chair. This project delves into the intrinsic qualities of each material within the context of contemporary design.
Le projet Hublot est une expérimentation de différentes matières à travers cet objet de notre quotidien; la chaise. Une seule et même forme distincte comme structure, dessinée avec un cercle d’ouverture au centre et réalisée en bois, en aluminium et en béton. Un prétexte pour explorer les limites et les qualités de ces trois différents matériaux.
Se voulant toutes démontables et assemblables qu’avec six vis et un tournevis, les chaises possèdent un tissu d’assise pouvant être facilement changé et stylisé.
À l'image des trois petits cochons qui ont bâti leurs demeures en paille, en bois et en briques, mon projet de la chaise Hublot explore les qualités distinctes de trois matériaux emblématiques: l'aluminium, le bois et le béton. Tout comme le premier cochon a rapidement opté pour la paille, j'ai choisi l'aluminium pour son caractère léger et moderne, offrant une esthétique épurée. Le bois, évoquant la solidité de la maison du deuxième, trouve sa place dans ma création pour apporter chaleur et élégance. Enfin, le béton, rappelant la robustesse de la maison en briques du troisième cochon, confère à la chaise une assise solide et durable. À travers cette démarche, je mets en lumière comment les choix des matériaux influencent non seulement sur l'apparence, mais également sur la fonctionnalité et la durabilité de ma chaise Hublot. Ce projet explore la valeur intrinsèque de chacun de ces matériaux dans le contexte du design contemporain.
