Solstice n.m. Série de luminaires issue de la rencontre du travail sculptural d’un artiste montréalais et de l’univers scandinave d’une entreprise québécoise.
Fasciné par les vieux matériaux qui reprennent vie selon un esthétisme actuel, balançant rigueur et fluidité, Jeremy Le Chatelier, en résidence chez Luminaire Authentik, donne cette prémice à leur collaboration symbiotique.
Wabi Sabi, Brutalisme, Vervoordt, l’amalgame des inspirations de Solstice lui confère un sens incorporel - l’art par le temps.
Un chariot rempli de métal oxydé et de sacs de béton, voilà le bagage que le créateur a amené à sa première rencontre avec Maude Rondeau, fondatrice et designer chez Luminaire Authentik. Il transportait ainsi sa seule contrainte pour ce projet: l’utilisation de matériaux impolis. Sans esquisse préalable, l’instinct sculptural de Jeremy Le Chatelier a été catalysé par l’encadrement et l’enseignement de l’entrepreneure qui a su le guider à travers des nombreux défis techniques intrinsèquement liés à la conception de luminaires. L’essence brute et dure des luminaires s’est adoucie à l’aide des traits épurés et fonctionnels enracinant l’approche de l’entreprise. En laissant place à l’accident et en acceptant l’imperfection de la matière, l’atteinte du produit final s’est accomplie dans une liberté entière de création collaborative à l’aide d’un travail extrêmement minutieux.
Les luminaires sont signés et numérotés et font partie d’une série d’œuvres uniques de la collaboration Luminaire Authentik x Le Chatelier. La réalisation de ces œuvres est entièrement faite à la main, majoritairement de matériaux trouvés et rescapés provenant de déchèteries, chantiers et autres. Avec le gradateur d’intensité d’éclairage intégré, et grâce à la technologie des ampoules de la compagnie londonienne Tala, la lumière peut être tamisée pour l'obtention d’une ambiance plus chaleureuse, semblable à celle qu’une flamme de chandelle pourrait apporter. Ces sculptures autrefois purement contemplatives s’insèrent maintenant dans leur environnement en soutenant une nouvelle fonction, celle du luminaire. Ce n’est plus uniquement le ressenti de l'œuvre elle-même, mais ce qu’elle dégage.
Le luminaire 11h07 sera mis en pré-vente le 15 avril 2021 et produit en 20 exemplaires uniques. Tous signés et numérotés. Il sera possible d’en réserver un exemplaire dès le lancement et d’en personnaliser sa couleur parmi cinq options présélectionnées, disponible sur le site de Luminaire Authentik.

A cart filled with oxidized metal and bags of concrete, this is the baggage that the designer brought to his first meeting with Maude Rondeau, founder and designer at Luminaire Authentik. He thus carried his only constraint for this project: the use of rude materials. Without a prior sketch, Jeremy Le Chatelier’s sculptural instinct was catalyzed by the mentoring and teaching of the entrepreneur who was able to guide him through the many technical challenges intrinsically linked to the design of lighting. The raw, hard essence of the fixtures has been mellowed with the clean, functional lines rooting the company’s approach. By leaving room for accident and accepting the imperfection of the material, the achievement of the final product was accomplished in complete freedom of collaborative creation using extremely meticulous work.
The lights are signed and numbered and are part of a series of unique works of the Luminaire Authentik x Le Chatelier collaboration. These pieces are made entirely by hand, mostly from materials found and survived from waste collection centers, construction sites and others. With the integrated dimmer of lighting, and thanks to the technology of the bulbs of the London company TALA, the light can be dimmed for a warmer atmosphere, similar to a candle flame.
These once purely contemplative sculptures now fit into their surroundings by supporting a new function, that of lighting. It is no longer just how the work itself feels, but what it gives off.
The 11:07 light will go on presale on April 15, 2021 and produced in 20 unique pieces. All signed and numbered. It will be possible to reserve a piece at the launch and customize its color from five pre-selected options, available on the Luminaire Authentik website.
